Our story

Founded in 2002, LusoSpace was the first space startup in Portugal. His main co-founder Ivo Yves Vieira participated in 1993 in the first Portuguese satellite, PoSAT-1 with the ambition to contribute for space in Portugal. After some years doing investigation and after 2 years as a missionary in Mozambique, he founded with two friends, Miguel Martins and Maximilien Coelho, the company.

Since then, LusoSpace has been growing 20% in average and increased its competences and capability holding several testing equipment and two clean rooms. Additionally, we created two spin-off, LusoVU in the field of Augmented Reality and LusoMusic in the field of music education using technology. Last but not least, we also invested in TurfLynx, a company that developed an autonomous mower for golf courses and was acquired by TORO.

We love to solve the hard challenges of technology for the progress of humanity. If it is difficult, this is for us. If it is in the forefront of technology, this is for us. And yes, we love to work in the space sector and in state of the art technology.
